Providing 30 Years of Hope and Housing

Since opening our doors in 1995, we’ve remained deeply committed to our mission: offering safe shelter, essential services, and a pathway to stability for those experiencing homelessness in the City of Kawartha Lakes and the County of Haliburton. What began as a small grassroots effort has grown into a vital community organization—one that thousands have turned to in times of crisis and transition.

💙 Our Journey, Our Impact

Over the past three decades, A Place Called Home has:

  • Delivered emergency shelter, Drop-In services, and transitional housing to thousands

  • Helped individuals reconnect with health, employment, and housing supports

  • Partnered with local agencies, volunteers, and donors to build a stronger safety net

  • Advocated for long-term solutions to homelessness and housing insecurity
